To produce much of my own food, and a bounty for others. Hand-farming can be plenty productive, and for better quality, more nutritious varieties no longer available, and no funny business.

Organized participation is key, the time can be fit into our lives, motivations are both personal and community, Self-managed processes, multiple overlapping growth cycles. Collection of a growing library of success models, research and results.

Outcomes
1. My PT hours yield a meaningful portion of my fresh, nutritious food need.
2. We provide for others, with limited waste, packaging and transportation, or markup.
3. Hard facts about productivity and costs.
4. Future productivity gains flow into the system.

Purpose Outcomes

1. My flex part-time hours yield a meaningful portion of my fresh, nutritious food need.

2. We provide for others, with limited waste, packaging and transportation, or markup.

3. Hard facts about productivity and costs, time required. (essentially an artisan/volunteer barter)

4. Future productivity gains flow into the system.

Areas of Interest for Improved Productivity

TEAM - self-directed, flex, participatory+volunteering+giving, commitments

ORGANIZING - work schedule, training, cohesion steps/program, managed scale, impediments removed/everything provided

SELECTION - variety nutrition, water efficiency, environmental

PROCESS - elongate season, multi-cycle, OpsDoc, no waste

MEASURES - precision, frequency

TOOLS - shared

Information Needs

Ground - size measures, initial environment measures. Rows, cycles, crops, water, harvest

People Time - schedule, processes, hours, instructions

Environment Measures (actuals) - temperature (air, soil), pH, rain, humidity, ground moisture, water supplement, sunlight, wind, pressure

Interesting measures (later?) - noise, ozone, certain frequencies, music, electro-static, electric flow, touch, direct stress

Research - topics, models, factor analysis, sources. Crop variety nutrition (basic).

Invest Upfront - Soil/Field Preparation, Irrigration, Infrastructure

Site selection - raw? to go thru full process? Or good start? Ground ( pH, moisture, bio, density ).

Tilling, slope/leveling, amendment (worms, fungi, compost), problem solving, cover/compost, soil temperature control, crop/variety adjustments

Measurement - perimeter posts ( temp, airflow, etc. )

Irrigation - Drip, mister/humidifier, many-point, reservoirs

Future/Not For Now

Simplifying efficiencies.
